In the third season finale of CBS'
Numb3rs, it was revealed that FBI Agent Colby Granger (
Dylan Bruno) was actually working as a spy for the Chinese. This led to Colby's dismissal from the team and incarceration, but this does not necessarily mean that viewers will never know more about the character's shocking revelation.
According to executive producer Cheryl Heuton, some form of resolution to Colby's betrayal will be presented in the upcoming season of
Numb3rs. "I think you'll see the essence of what you want to know resolved in one episode," Heuton told TV Guide, "and then a lot of repercussions on from there."
Numb3rs, a drama that follows an FBI agent and his mathematically-adept younger brother as they work together to solve various crimes in Los Angeles, will return for its fourth season later this month. The premiere episode is directed by Tony Scott (
Agent Orange, Domino, Déjà Vu, Man on Fire), and Heuton is predicting it will rank as the show's most expensive episode since the pilot.
"It goes at a blistering pace," Heuton told TV Guide. "It's pretty high action for
Numb3rs. Pretty high action period."
Heuton also said that Scott employed a “fancy hair person” to work on the cast's hair.
"He is totally into hair. He said, 'I have no hair, so I'm obsessed with other people's hair,'” Heuton recalled to
TV Guide.
On September 25, the complete third season DVD will be made available to the public. The DVD is made up of six discs and contains all 24 episodes, as well as numerous special features, including a gag reel, set house tour, and audio commentaries on five episodes.
The fourth season of
Numb3rs will premiere on Friday, September 28, at 10pm on CBS. All major cast members will appear in the new season.
