Last week, viewers got taste of the onscreen chemistry of real-life brothers Dylan and
Chris Bruno as
Numb3rs featured the episode “Chinese Box.” Chris, who is popularly known as Sheriff Bannerman on
The Dead Zone, guest starred on the police drama where Dylan plays FBI agent Colby Granger. Chris joined the cast as a SWAT captain named Tim Kring in a plot that finds the team under pressure when a former FBI subcontractor shoots an agent inside the FBI headquarters. Though the team was left with a severely restricted plan of action, he saves the day just as David (
Alimi Ballard) was taken hostage inside the FBI building.
The Bruno brothers may not get along on screen but certainly enjoys every opportunity to work together. Producers of
Numb3rs have been joking around for quite some time in having Dylan convince his brother Chris for a guest spot on the show and the chance finally came in the 10th episode of season 4.
“He got to play a SWAT team leader. He's a good guy, it's not like he comes in and gets killed off in one episode. We just had a great time working together. It's always a pleasure for us to have that opportunity and it just makes it really fun for the two of us to just be able to be on each other's show,” Dylan told
TV Guide.
Dylan and Chris have interestingly attracted
Numb3rs fans with their argument on-screen. Despite their convincing portrayal, Dylan reveals that in real life, they don't usually clash.
“The funny thing is that actually, my brother and I have not really had very many arguments in the course of growing up. I mean, we're pretty far apart in age — six and a half years — and when you're little kids growing up that's just worlds apart. And so in all of those years where kids tend to fight and compete over things, we were completely noncompetitive because we were in totally different worlds. By the time we were adults, when we got into the arena where we could potentially compete for things, we had already realized that we don't need to,” he said.
