Upcoming Movies for the Stars of Nip/Tuck
Tuesday, March 04, 2008

nip/tuckDylan Walsh and Julian McMahon are not only making controversial waves on television as the lead stars of Nip/Tuck, but are also gradually creating buzz with their upcoming movies.  Walsh's film is currently filming, so fans can expect the movie to hit the theaters later this year.  Meanwhile, McMahon's project is still in pre-production stages but will most likely come up in 2009.

Walsh, who starts as Dr. Sean McNamara on Nip/Tuck, is working on The Stepfather, the remake of the 1987 thriller film of the same name.  The movie centers on a teenage boy who discovers that his soon-to-be stepfather isn't all he appears to be.  He then speculates that the man who fell in love with his mother might be a psycho who murdered his previous family.

Walsh plays the stepfather, a mentally disturbed man whose entire adult life revolves around his quest to have the perfect family.  In the original movie, this role was portrayed by Terry O'Quinn, who now stars as John Locke on ABC's Lost.

Joining the Nip/Tuck star in The Stepfather are Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl), Sela Ward (House), Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights), and Jon Tenney (The Closer).

As for McMahon, he'll soon be working on The Smell of Apples, a movie based on the 1993 debut novel by South African Mark Behr.  The film is about a young boy growing up in South Africa during the time of apartheid.  In addition to McMahon, who currently plays Dr. Christian Troy on Nip/Tuck, Gillian Anderson, who is famously known for her role as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully on The X-Files, will also be featured in the movie.

Meanwhile, fans can catch the eight remaining new episodes of Nip/Tuck this coming fall on the FX network.
