Several months ago, BuddyTV reported that
Katee Sackhoff, who is perhaps best known for playing Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace on the Sci Fi series
Battlestar Galactica, will be scrubbing in on
Nip/Tuck for at least four episodes. Recently, however, producers have decided to give the FX drama a casting makeover, which leaves Sackhoff out of the picture.
Nip/Tuck has already set its eyes on Sackhoff's substitute. To find out about the actress, read on.
According to
Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello,
Rose McGowan will be joining
Nip/Tuck next season as Sackhoff's replacement for the role of Theodora "Teddy" Lowe, a doctor and potential love interest for Sean (
Dylan Walsh). The recast reportedly comes on the heels of the news that the
Battlestar Galactica actress has signed on to headline NBC's cop pilot
Lost and Found, so it's likely that a scheduling conflict led her to back out of the
Nip/Tuck gig.
This marks McGowan's first major TV gig since she played Paige Matthews on the series
Charmed, as well as her reunion with former
Charmed co-star
Julian McMahon, who plays Christian Troy on the dark medical drama. After
Charmed went off the air in 2006, the Italian-born American actress worked on several films such as
The Black Dahlia, Grindhouse, Death Proof, Planet Terror and
Fifty Dead Men Walking.
Aside from her upcoming appearance on
Nip/Tuck, McGowan has several movie projects lined up beginning next year. She'll be playing the title character in the action horror thriller
Red Sonja, and will be taking the lead as well in the bio-pic
Black Oasis which is the story of B-movie actress Susan Cabot, who was murdered by her dwarf son in 1986. Last but not the least, she is rumored to join Jessica Alba in
Sin City 2, which is slated to hit theaters in 2010.
