Newport Harbor ended its eight-season freshman run on Wednesday, October 3, and although MTV has yet to announce whether the series will have a second season, it is clear that viewers are eager to see more of their favorite teens from Newport High.

Newport Harbor, which, like its predecessor Laguna Beach, has a teen soap opera feel to it, featured Chrissy Schwartz and Clay Adler as the powercouple.  Viewers watched their romance unfold on the screen, as well as see it enter the realm long-distance dating when Chrissy left town for college in the finale.

At this time, it is unclear whether Chrissy and Clay's relationship survived, but, judging by BuddyTV's readers' reactions, a majority are rooting for the couple to beat the odds.

Many fans of Newport Harbor who shared their opinion about Chrissy and Clay's relationship chose to remain anonymous, but one thing is certain: most of them want to see Chrissy and Clay together.

One fan, addressing her message to Chrissy, wrote, “I love watching Newport Harbor.  You and Clay are perfect for each other.”  The fan also went on to praise Chrissy, saying, “I think you are beautiful. Good Luck in college…  I think you are a sweet girl.  Good Luck with everything.”

Another fan expressed her support for the couple, encouraging Chrissy to “NOT LET ANYTHING STAND BETWEEN YOU AND CLAY.  [YOU] GUYS ARE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER!! [YOU] SHOULD MARRY HIM! [YOU'RE] MY FAVE IN NEWPORT HARBOR.”

One woman who claims to be in her 30s also hailed her support for Chrissy and Clay, writing, “Chrissy, I love you & Clay together!  I'm in my 30's and sometimes wish I had a guy like clay back then!  It just makes me melt watching you guys together!  I hope you guys make it work!  Believe me, it doesn't get any better!”

Some viewers also addressed their comments to Clay, with one fan named Vasari writing, “CLAY IF I WERE YOU I'D HANG ON TO CHRISSY.  SHE IS SMART AND YOU AND HER LOOK PERFECT TOGETHER...  I WISH I WAS HER...  LET US KNOW HOW THINGS WORK OUT...  I AM SO SORRY THE SHOW HAD TO END...  I THINK THEY SHOULD BRING IT BACK NEXT SEASON...”

Another fan urged Clay to stay with Chrissy because he “is lucky to have her” and she in turn is lucky to have him.

One fan named jono even went so far as to say that Chrissy and Clay should have children together.

“I heart you Clay.  I want you and Chrissy to be together,” jono wrote.  “I want you [two] to make babies… you and Chrissy should make lots of babies.”

Amidst the numerous affirmative votes for the couple, there, of course, stand a few who disagree with the union.

One fan of Chrissy wrote, “Chrissy, you seem like [a] super sweet and nice girl.  You deserve more than what your getting on the show.  Find a decent guy who just doesn't want to bed you down, then brag to his [friends].  Stay sweet.”

Another urged Clay to leave Chrissy, and even claimed that Allie Stockton, Chrissy's initial rival for Clay's affections, is the better choice.

“Clay - lose Chrissy!!!” the fan said.  “Are you [kidding] me with her...  please!!!  You can do better, like me! [you're] sooooooooooooo much better than that mouse.  Allie is 10 times better, no joke.”
