Like you I'm waiting for NCIS to return to my Tuesday night viewing schedule. Oh let's be honest. NCIS is my Tuesday night viewing schedule. I've watched NCIS Los Angeles and it's a good show, but it doesn't have Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Tony DiNozzo, Ziva David and the rest of the team.
I am invested in them unlike the characters of NCIS Los Angeles. I have seen every episode of NCIS and some several times.
I need my quota of Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly et al.
Yes I do sometimes watch NCIS on USA night after night. Ion shows episodes too. I also watch it on Sleuth. Sleuth shows mostly cop shows and for some reason House. I guess medical mysteries are just as mysterious as criminal ones.
The problem with watching multiple repeats is that eventually you see them all. You get the dialogue down. You know what to expect.
Of course you can listen for the lines you love. You can anticipate favorite scenes.
'Oh this is the part where Dr. 'Ducky' Mallard offers to help Ziva over the stepping stones and they both fall in to the water.'
Ducky says, "How refreshing, an independent woman."
I love that part.
Tony, Gibbs is right behind you!
"He's standing right behind me, isn't he?" Tony asks a pained look on his face.
"Ya think DiNozzo?"
And here comes a head slap, or a movie reference, or a Probie comment, or a Ducky story moment. Good times.
I like when Tony quotes movie lines don't you? I especially like his Sean Connery voice. Very sexy.
I adore Tim McGee and Abby Sciuto scenes. McGee slept in Abby's coffin you know. Oh, you did know.
I enjoy instances between Gibbs and FBI agent Tobias Fornell. They act like relatives. Maybe since Fornell married Gibbs' ex-wife they could be ex-husband-in-laws. Well, maybe not.
I actually look forward to Ducky's stories. David McCallum is so cute. I could listen to his accent all day.
Then there is Gibbs' interaction with 'The Director' who changes depending on what season the episode you're watching aired. I liked Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly). There were more layers to her relationship with Gibbs that could have been pealed away. It's sad she died but she went out with a bang.
So to did Caitlyn Todd (Sasha Alexander). Do I like Caitlyn more than Ziva? Do I like Ziva more than Caitlyn? I'll say a diplomatic 'yes' to both of those questions. That should keep me out of trouble, if such a thing is possible.
When you see a repeat do you say the lines along with the characters? Do you look forward to certain parts? Do you nit-pick the scenes? Do you find errors or inconsistencies? Share with us below. I'm really curious as to how we fans view NCIS repeats.
Me, I watch with a big cup of coffee and I wait for those favorite moments.
