NCIS series regular
David McCallum was cast to do the voice of Zeus in the Warner Bros. animated
Wonder Woman movie. McCallum, who plays
NCIS Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Ducky Mallard on the procedural, will lend his voice to the chief of the gods in the fantasy sci-fi animation slated to come out February of next year.
Directed by Lauren Montgomery,
Wonder Woman will trace the origins of the superheroine as she tries to save her people and ultimately the world from the vengeful god of war Ares. When the Amazon princess Diana (voiced by Keri Russel) violates Amazonian policy and accompanies pilot Steve Trevor (voiced by Nathan Fillion) back home to the United States after his crash-landing on the mystical island of Themyscria.
Meanwhile, after escaping captivity by the Amazonians, Ares (voiced by Alfred Molina) decides to wage war against Diana's kind and use an ancient artifact, the Hand of Rage, to start a war that will rage on for centuries and ultimately wipe out the Amazon population and the world as well. Faced with this scenario, Princess Diana must become Wonder Woman.
On
NCIS, which returns on September 23 on CBS, Dr. Mallard is a Scottish chief medical examiner who helps the team and has a rather odd habit of talking to dead bodies to the dead bodies while he performs autopsies on them.
Before NCIS wrapped up its season, there was a pretty significant shakeup in terms of Gibbs' team. When several of the cast were removed, such as Tony DiNozzo (
Michael Weatherly), Timothy McGee (
Sean Murray), and Ziva David (
Cote de Pablo) at the end of last season, three new characters were subsequently added to the team: Jonathan Magnum, Liza Lapira and Jonathan LaPaglia.
Meanwhile, the Wonder Woman movie also features the voices of Rosario Dawson, Virginia Madsen, and Oliver Platt.
