In NCIS season 10 so far the team has had to deal with a massive explosion, plus the emotional and even some physical trauma from that event. While that might seem like enough drama for one season, it looks like there's a lot more coming for at least two characters.

An emotional crossroads for Tony

First up, there is the continued rumor that Tony will be getting a new love interest this season. Some are even questioning if this could be someone that he already knows (*cough*Ziva*cough). This one has been bandied about for a while and TVLine got an answer to that very question from NCIS creator, Gary Glasberg.

On the subject, Glasberg said:  "As we get into November sweeps, expect to see Tony and Ziva opening up to each other more, sharing some guarded memories that they both cherish. Tony will have some decisions to make as the season progresses, decisions that could leave him at a real emotional crossroads."

Boy, talk about a carefully guarded answer but I guess we can't expect them to come right out and confirm the rumors one way or another. Looks like we'll all just have to wait and see what happens.

Gibbs' sordid past

Not to be left out, there are rumors churning about Gibbs' love life as well. We've already heard that ER's Alex Kingston will be guest-starring in an upcoming episode and given that she can definitely be described as a vivacious redhead, chances are her character could catch the eye of one Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

TV Guide reports that Kingston's character is a woman named Miranda Pennebaker, and Gibbs will turn to for help in a difficult case involving human trafficking.

NCIS executive producer Gary Glasberg said of Miranda, that "She is someone with a bit of a shady past who knows a lot about the underground sale of things." Glasberg also added, "They clearly have a bit of a sordid past. It's never really determined how far their past went, but there's flirtation in the air. This is the first time that they are really working together on something."

Whoa, that certainly sounds interesting to me. A sordid past? Could this be a form fling of Gibbs'? And if so, could this mean that the fires of romance could be burning again for our favorite taciturn agent?

What do you think of the new of both Tony and Gibbs getting some more romance this season on NCIS? Do you think it's about time or would you rather the writers focused on other types of storylines?

NCIS airs on Tuesdays at 8pm on CBS.
