BuddyTV would like to introduce Jacky Jackman, our NCIS Fan Columnist. This week Jacky is weighing in on McGee and Abby's chemistry. If you'd like to become a fan contributor, click here.
I sail the USS McAbby and am proud to say so. I prefer TAbby to McAbby. That can be confusing with Special Agent Tony DiNozzo, Michael Weatherly, and Special Agent Timothy McGee, Sean Murray. It is cute, like this pair of computer crime fighters. I like the course they've set. I can hear all of you Tivas moaning.
There are several website communities devoted to McAbby going on ad infinitum. McAbby is a popular coupling. The pairing of sweet nerd Tim McGee and the gothic Forensic Specialist, Abigail 'Abby' Sciuto, Pauley Perrette, is wonderful to contemplate.
Matching characters is something NCIS does very well. Tiva is Tony and Special Agent Ziva David, Cote de Pablo. These two have the sexual tension that good dramas need. Lead Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Mark Harmon, had many opportunities to join up with different women to create a nice sailing vessel, like those he builds in his basement.
In the beginning 'probie' Tim McGee was curious about Abby. Tony DiNozzo warned him that Abby was not his type. DiNozzo makes this comment as McGee is waiting for the elevator. McGee smiles and tells Tony he has a date with Abby.
This was more than a date crew. We later learn that McGee stayed with Abby and had access to more than her naval installation. It seems that Timothy occupied her coffin as well. A true gothic gal from New Orleans, Abby sleeps in a coffin and plays with voodoo dolls to relax. No wonder she floats his boat.
Gibbs ordered McGee to stay with Abby when it was feared she would be murdered. While at McGee's she increased the speed of his computer in the few moments he was gone. Check his bathroom for her toothbrush. She raises her eyebrows and tells him she doesn't use a ladybug toothbrush. Thar she blows!
McAbby hasn't floundered but it has become a warm friendship between two colleagues. I hope it fires up again.
Now if only Ducky would find someone since his mother disembarked.
I like being in the shipping lanes. We learn so much about the characters we love. For me characters steer the show. The crimes are important but it's the characters that compel me watch weekly or daily since I have cable and USA.
This is my opinion and like the ocean that's the way I roll.
