NCIS season 10 continues on Tuesday, February 19 with an episode called "Hereafter." Take a look at the synopsis and preview clips below to find out how Vance is doing after the devastating loss of his wife.

First up, let's take a look at the official synopsis of the episode from CBS:

On leave from NCIS while still grieving the loss of his wife and his kids' mother, Director Vance discovers unexpected personal information that causes him to question everything.

In the preview vide for the episode, we find out that Vance isn't so much on leave as he is just on leave from being Director. Looks like he's going to immerse himself back in the trenches and work as a field agent for a little while.

Here are a few more things we know from watching the video:

  • Tony may wonder if he can call Vance "Probie Vance," but I doubt even he has the guts to actually do it.
  • Vance is going to find something in a box that is going to shatter his world and, we assume, his memories of his wife.
  • Vance's behavior is going to cause the Deputy Director to worry about the man whose seat he has taken over temporarily.

In the preview clip from the episode,

Here are a few more things we know from watching the video:

  • Despite the almost chipper way Tony said it, Ass-Kick Avenue doesn't look quite as fun as he makes it sound.
  • The Deputy Director doesn't like being the go-between guy for the base commander.
  • Vance announcing that he was going to be working with the team in the bullpen is a big surprise to everyone, even Gibbs.

What do you think now that you've seen clips from this episode of NCIS? Why do you think Vance has decided to work as an agent? Got any theories on what he's going to find out that's going to shatter his world?

NCIS airs on Tuesday nights at 8pm on CBS.
