Just like her
NCIS criminologist character Abby Sciuto,
Pauley Perrette has been caught up in a real-life drama of her own. The 39-year-old actress has participated in an extensive search for her friend Lami Nicole Powlesland, who has been missing for several days. Fortunately, Powlesland has already been found.
"Thankfully, this one has a happy ending. I was with the missing girl's parents at my church when we got the call that she was found," the
NCIS actress told
Entertainment Tonight of her relief that her pal is alive and well.

Powlesland vanished last week and officials were contacted when her belongings were found on a popular hiking trail. She was recently released from a mental hospital in Tennessee and was last seen on June 11 in Hollywood.
"Her purse was found at one end of Runyon Canyon with all the contents in it; her jewelry was found in another part of Runyon Canyon," the
NCIS star said at the time. "She hasn't used her ATM or credit cards. No one has been able to locate her car, which is black 2008 Jeep Liberty."
Perrette, who happens to have a criminology degree in real life, admits she's grateful to all the police who took part in an extensive search over the weekend.
"They were amazing in their late-night search," she added.
In addition to
NCIS, which recently concluded its fifth season in May, Perrette also has an upcoming movie called
Satan Hates You. The horror flick is the latest feature film from producer Larry Fessenden's Glass Eye Pix and writer/director James Felix McKenney's MonsterPants Movies. The film tells the stories of two individuals and their personal struggles with Lucifer himself. The film boasts a large ensemble cast, including Don Wood, Christine Spencer, Angus Scrimm, Reggie Bannister, and John Levene, just to name a few.
