With the seventh season of NCIS not returning until late 2009, on top of that secretly filmed torture scene involving her, TV Guide reports that Ziva, played by Cote De Pablo, doused rumors that the MOSSAD operative will not be returning next season.
NCIS big boss Shane Brennan said that come September when NCIS returns, "all will be revealed and you will be surprised. It will come at you from left field." In a nutshell, yes, the other half of the Tiva tandem will be back.
In a prior interview, Brennan said that while the sixth season finale will be big - yes, even bigger than in season 5 when the team was split up albeit temporarily - it will not involve either Tony (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva.
"Everything has a life, and eventually things end. Now if you think I just said that Tiva's going to end, I didn't say that."
"We filmed a secret ending," he previously revealed, "and those pages were only in one copy of the script. People will see the finale and say, 'I know what's going to happen next in the first episode back.' Wrong. You don't know what's going to happen. People will go, 'Am I really seeing that? What just happened?' It really is exciting. I promised that with [the Season 5 finale] "Judgment Day," and I think we delivered. It is very much in that vein."
Last Tuesday's NCIS repeat on CBS rules the night, reeling in 10.2 million viewers, more than 5 mil above an all new I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here
on NBC, followed by repeats of House
, According to Jim
, and 90210
As a little side note, the sixth season of NCIS
will arrive on DVD August 25th.
