Things are changing for the NCIS: Los Angeles team -- and we don't just mean they're getting a new Executive Assistant Director in Nia Long's Shay Mosley -- and even more change may be coming in the season 9 premiere.

"Party Crashers" sees Shay Mosley arrive in Los Angeles after Hetty turns in retirement papers and then disappears to oversee the team and immediately makes staffing changes. As for how Sam's doing after his wife's death, he's living in a trailer on the beach and wants Callen to find a new partner.

Check out a sneak peek of Shay Mosley's first day:

"OSP is supposed to be an elite unit, not a bunch of cowboys," she reminds Callen after the team's biggest lead ends up dead. And she's not pleased that Deeks is back, but Callen argues, "we need him," and maybe if they'd had him, they could have prevented what happened. But that's not what she wants to hear.

"I'm telling you to let me run my team the way I see fit," Callen says. "You want to make this unit stronger? Great. But all you've done so far is weaken it. You want me to respect your decisions? Fine. Then you better start respecting mine as well."

See why Kensi is not happy with Deeks:

Kensi and Deeks are finally officially engaged. So everything should be great, right? Wrong, because it looks like Deeks' plan is to tell his mother "right after the honeymoon." Plus, he figures, since Kensi told her mother, his mother must know and they would've heard about it over and over again if she was angry.

But Kensi still wants Deeks to call his mother, which he reluctantly does, leaving her a voicemail to call him back "whenever you can, not a rush, today or tomorrow or next month." Needless to say, Kensi is not "ecstatic."
