Nashville season 5 ended with the future of Highway 65 in doubt. Unlike the end of season 4, however, the series' future is not up in the air. Nashville was renewed for season 6 about halfway through season 5 and now fans have a time period for when to expect the new season. CMT and Nashville announced that season 6 will air sometime in January 2018.

Nashville Season 5 Finale Recap: Will Zach Destroy Highway 65?>>>

There isn't an exact date for season 6, but based on the season 5 premiere, it might be a safe bet to assume season 6 will hit earlier in the month rather than later. Season 5 premiered on January 5, 2017. It would make sense if season 6 hits somewhere around that time.

Nashville did not drop any real plot details for season 6 with the announcement. A trailer was released on Twitter that suggests the season will pick up immediately from where season 5 ended. In the quick teaser, Avery can be seen looking for Juliette in their home and not finding her. When he calls her cell, presumably, he finds that it's disconnected.

As for the other big cliffhanger of the season with the future of Highway 65, Nashville season 6 will obviously address it. It does sound promising that the label will survive but it definitely won't be smooth sailing. In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Marshall Herskovitz said, "There is a chance that Highway 65 will survive but they're still facing the same kind of real difficulties record labels face these days."

But what do you think? Will Highway 65 manage to survive? Where is Juliette? Is January 2018 too long a wait or just enough time?
