'Naruto': Path of the Ninja 2 to Be Released Later This Year
Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Naruto fans and Nintendo gamers gear up for the newest wave of RPG games is about to hit retail stores later this year.  Based on the anime series of the same name, Naruto: Path of the Ninja 2 is the sequel to last year’s Nintendo DS game released by D3Publisher.  The games are developed by Tomy Corporation, which also released games such as Naruto: Ninja Destiny in February 2008.

“It’s been gratifying to see the Naruto brand grow and evolve with each new iteration,” D3PA Vice President for Marketing Alison Quirion said in a statement for the Naruto: Ninja Destiny.  “As fans of the series ourselves, we are always looking to bring NARUTO to broader audiences and introduce new ways to bring these amazing characters to life.”

Naruto: Path of the Ninja 2 is set to be released in September, and will continue the storyline where the first installment left off.  Fans and players will get a chance to access over 30 characters from the series in this installment, and will also get to experience the improved battle system from last year.  Among these systems are the new Squad Leader and Ninja Tag system for squad-building options. Moreover, this game can also support the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

“There are huge numbers of NARUTO fans across North America, and we wanted to give them more choices that ever before,” Laura Yoshioka, Director of Consumer Software at TOMY Corporation, said in a statement.  “This new adventure will allow fans to play as their favorite character and create their own dream ninja squad as they try to complete an entirely original mission.”

As of now, there aren’t any more details released yet from these major companies involved in the release of the new game, but make sure to check back for more details and the final release date of Naruto: Path of the Ninja 2.
