Jaime Pressly worked as actress Drew Barrymore's body double in the film Poison Ivy. She starred in the 1997 sequel, Poison Ivy: The New Seduction. In 1999, Pressly was cast as the promiscuous dancer "Audrey" on the television show Jack & Jill. Pressly starred in the independent film Poor White Trash, playing scheming gold-digger Sandy Lake. She subsequently appeared in a number of widely released films, including Not Another Teen Movie and Torque, as a crazed motorcycle-riding criminal. Pressly currently appears on the hit NBC sitcom My Name is Earl as Joy. In July 2006, she received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on the show.
Joy Turner is Earl's ex-wife, Darnell's current wife, and mother of Dodge and Earl Jr., neither of which are Earl's biological children. She operates a nail parlor in her home. Though she puts on a front of self-centeredness, she fully appreciates the people around her, even Earl, and has been found to be a dedicated, loving mom. She is also a very good fighter, a fact she puts down to "watchin' a lot of Springer" — when she was pregnant with Dodge, Joy knocked Earl's girlfriend Jessie (and her front teeth) out.
