Antonio Sabato Jr., soap actor and star of the VH1 series
My Antonio, came to Hawaii looking for love---which he eventually found it in singer-songwriter Cheryl Moana Marie. According to
People, Sabato stepped out with his new love, on Sunday at the Hollywood Christmas Parade, introducing her as "my girlfriend."
Sabato, who is perhaps best known for playing Jagger Cates on
General Hospital, initially tried to look for his soulmate among 14 women, including his ex-wife Tully, on the reality dating series
My Antonio. The show, which was shot in Hawaii, saw Sabato choose Brooke Barlow over runner-up Miranda Reinfeldt and Tully Jensen, who came in third place.
But not surprisingly,
My Antonio's success rate when it comes to off-cam relationships was no different from other reality dating series. Brooke and Antonio later broke up after the wrapping up the 10-episode season.
A source told
People, Sabato and the Hawaiian-born Cheryl Moana Marie began to date shortly after
My Antonio concluded. "They are so solid, so happy together," the source said.
According to
Cheryl Moana Marie's MySpace profile, Cheryl has won several beauty competitions, including Miss Kauai America. She was also included in the top 5 of the Miss Hawaii America competition. "During her reign as Miss Kauai America, Cheryl began modeling for famed Sports Illustrated photographer, Bob Coello and became the ambassador to the island, greeting dignitaries from all over the world...She later moved to Los Angeles and competed in Miss California USA where she placed top five and won the coveted title as Miss Asia USA. Cheryl began broadening her career and was immediately selected to be a Los Angeles Raiderette and continued with the team when they moved to Oakland to become an Oakland Raiderette."
