Back in June, when the fate of the CBS series Moonlight
was yet undetermined, we reported
that the first season DVD of said show will be released some time in September. Now that the month is coming to a close, fans have started to become anxious about the DVD release. While they want to get their hands on the DVD to calm the frustration caused by the non-renewal of the show that brought us Alex O'Loughlin
as the sexy vamp detective Mick St. John, no definite reports have surfaced.
In August, though, we brought you good news
with CBS announcing that while they have officially turned off Moonlight
, they will be keeping the 32-year-old Australian actor to pursue other series projects with the network. In fact, CBS and O’Loughlin went ahead to sign a year-long contract for the actor to work on a project developed by Mark Gordon, who is also behind the hits Desperate Housewives
, Army Wives
, Grey's Anatomy
and Criminal Minds
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
Meanwhile, as fans await O’Loughlin’s return to television, TV Guide reports that there is a tiny glimmer of hope on the release of the Moonlight
Season 1 DVD. While there is still no definite release date for the much anticipated DVD (cue groaning and tantrums), TV Guide reports that Warner Home Video representatives have advised Moonlight
fans to “stay tuned for good news you can really sink your teeth into in the next month.”
It looks like a definite U.S. DVD release will soon be announced, as a European release was already given for fans in the other parts of the world. TV Guide adds that the DVD might not serve as stocking stuffers this Christmas season as it might be released sometime around the New Year’s holiday. Don’t forget to check back for more updates on the Season 1 DVD release of Moonlight.
