The slogan for Mixology is ten strangers, one night and the ridiculous things we do to find love. After watching the first two episodes it is clear, that tag line is a perfect fit for this new comedy.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

ABC's latest venture into the comedy scene is actually pretty good. The series presumably take place over night and follows five women and five men as they try to make a love connection. Well in the case of some of the ladies and gents it is simply as they try to make a hook-up connection.

This is clearly going to be a show with intertwining story-lines so it is hard to say whether it will truly be a hit or not. However, the first couple of episodes have certainly peeked my interest. From the recently dumped kind of nerdy Tom, to the mega witch Maya, to stuck in a boring but safe relationship Liv to the British dreamboat who lost it all Ron, all of the characters are quite interesting. Yes I have only given you four of the ten because I don't want to ruin it for you.

Although Mixology seems to have a great concept and some interesting story-lines, it is a little short on the laughs. Sure there are some laugh out loud moments but they weren't quite Modern Family funny moments. That being said, there is real potential for the funny potion to be added to the mix of this show.

The characters will draw you in quickly but be wary of the annoying obnoxious redhead; he might not be as annoying as he comes across. Same with the amazing designer who seems to have a killer career and a slew of friends but what is her life missing? Yes there is a little soap opera thrown into this sitcom and it works quite well, in fact it makes the stakes in the show more enticing. As viewers learn more about each character the soapiness could ramp up. Hopefully Mixology will keep it on the lighter side and not the soap-opera side as the show progresses.

ABC's Mixology really comes across as is light-hearted comedy that focuses on a core group of people for one night. If you are looking for something that you can just watch and occasionally laugh at this is the show for you. It may take a couple of episodes before you are fully hooked but it's definitely worth taking a glance or two at.

Mixology airs on ABC on Wednesdays at 9:30pm.
