Miss Guided may not have made the cut for ABC's 2008-2009 season schedule but that doesn't it mean it's over for lead star Judy Greer.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 32-year-old actress has just been tapped to play the lead role in HBO's half-hour pilot Suburban Shootout.

Based on a series from Britain's Five, Suburban Shootout puts the Miss Guided actress in a dark comedy where she plays a woman who escapes the city for suburban bliss. Unfortunately, she finds out that her new home is caught in a gang war between homicidal armed wives vying for control of the idyllic town.

Serving as director to the HBO pilot is Barry Sonnenfeld, who is credited for his work on Pushing Daisies and Men in Black.  Michelle Ashford of Boomtown and John Adams, on the other hand, is writing the American adaptation.

Joining the Miss Guided actress in the pilot is Kelly Preston.  The former model turned actress and wife of John Travolta is known for her roles in For Love of the Game, Sky High and Death Sentence.  Most recently, she has guest starred on television series like Medium and Fat Actress.

Also included in the cast is Kerri Kenney.  Aside from playing Deputy Trudy Wiegel on Reno 911, Kenney also does voice work for the animated TV series Kim Possible.  In addition to Suburban Shootout, she has two upcoming movies, including Little Big Men and All About Steve.

Rounding up the cast is Rachael Harris.  This actress is best known for her role on the series Notes from the Underbelly as Cooper.  She has also appeared on shows like Hollywood Residential, Reno 911 and CSI, where she appeared as Megan Kupowski in the “crossover” episode called “Two and a Half Deaths.”  Just like Kenney, Harris has an upcoming movie entitled The Soloist, a biopic starring Robert Downey Jr.
