Tiva in an Elevator?

After so many years of teases, will NCIS season 10 finally see some sort of togetherness between Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David?

The answer is... Kind of.

According to a report from TVLine, the NCIS season 10 premiere will find Tony and Ziva stuck in an elevator -- two hours after the cataclysmic blast that ended season 9. How will the two pass the time? NCIS producer Gary Glasberg hinted that the pair would "emotionally connect" in some way.

But don't get your hopes up too high. Cote de Pablo (Ziva) warned that love might not be the actual outcome: "I don't think they're going to go there, but they're definitely going to explore."

Exploration could lead to love...


Or Not...

But love probably will not blossom between Tony and Ziva. That's because there is also a chance for new love coming the way of Tony DiNozzo in season 10. Gary Glasberg told EW.com that "Tony is trying to figure out what he wants from life. We had the E.J. thing, but I think it's time for Tony to maybe find someone special."

The NCIS producer refused to comment as to whether this "someone special" was a new character or a familiar one.


Returning Characters

Although neither of them are likely loves for Tony, there are at least two confirmed characters returning to NCIS in season 10. TVLine reports that Robert Wagner will return for a third appearance as Anthony DiNozzo, Sr. Wagner's guest-starring role is currently planned to happen in a holiday episode sometime at the end of the fall season.

The second returning character is Abby's younger brother, Kyle (Daniel Luis Rivas). The character's return will relate to the season 9 finale explosion and will come during an episode in early October.


New Faces    

It's not just returning guest stars that we can expect on NCIS this season. A few new characters are already planned. Three guest characters reported by TVLine include Dr. Blackwell, an eccentric and famous space geologist; Ellie, a wealthy woman who feels guilt over her father's death before learning new information; and an aging rock star in his 50s who now has to avoid his debts. There's even a chance that the rock star could be played by an actual rock star of some sort.

NCIS season 10 premieres on Tuesday, September 25 at 8pm on CBS.
