Kat Von D is an exceptional tattoo artist who effortlessly transforms elaborate art into beautiful skin. Naturally artistic, her creativity spans the world of tattoos and branches out to the world of music, as she is also capable of playing the guitar and the piano. Strikingly gorgeous, her distinct Spanish-Italian and part German ancestry makes her stand out from the rest of the crowd. At present, she stars on the reality show Miami Ink.

Born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Kat Von Drachenberg first started tattooing at the age of 14. Her passion for tattoos and artistic proficiency immediately landed her a spot at a tattoo shop called Sin City Tattoo at the age of 16. Eventually, she moved around to several other shops, gaining experience and perfecting her craft. Apart from Miami Ink, she also works at the tattoo shop called True Tattoo in Hollywood, California.

As the only female tattoo artist on Miami Ink, she gets to be the center of attention of the show. Her unique and exquisite designs make her an outstanding feature of the cast. On and off cam, she is perceived as the life of the party. Her inclusion on the show also gives her the opportunity to showcase her realistic and portraiture tattoo designs. And even though she often does her art on a black and gray scale, she is still able to outshine other artists’ color tainted designs. Her addition to the show certainly makes the program worth watching.
