Hermione Norris was born in Essex, England in 1968. Her father named her after Helen of Troy’s daughter. Norris is married to Simon Wheeler who is head of Development at the Coastal TV Company. They have a son, Wilf, born in 2002. Prior to joining BBC’s espionage drama, MI5, Norris worked on two other series. She played Karen Marsden on Cold Feet and Detective Chief Inspector Carol Jordan opposite Robson Green on Wire in the Blood. Norris was initially trained as a dancer and some of her earliest performances were onstage in Chekhov's The Seagull at the Moscow Arts Theatre, Stephen Poliakoff's Blinded By The Sun at the National, and the world premiere of Ariel Dorfman's Reader at Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre. Among her big screen credits are for Born Romantic, Quicksand and Separate Lies.

Ros Myers, played by Hermione Norris on MI5, is a ruthless field agent with the agency’s counter-terrorism unit. She is the daughter of a powerful business mogul and has been exposed to the world of espionage and politics practically all her life. She is a born natural in her field and she savors her responsibilities completely.
