Anna Chancellor was born on April 27, 1965 and is a descendant of famed author Jane Austen. One of her most memorable film roles is as Duckface in the comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral starring Hugh Grant. She has also appeared in Staggered as well as the comedies, The Man Who Knew Too Little starring Bill Murray and as Questular Rontok in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. On television, she starred in the 1995 production of Pride and Prejudice and 2002’s Tipping the Velvet. She can also be seen in Jupiter Moon, Inspector Morse, Poirot, The Vice, Fortysomething and Cold Lazarus.
Juliet Shaw, played by Anna Chancellor on the British spy drama MI5, is a right-wing, no-nonsense, uncompromising and fast-rising agent who now holds the post of National Security Coordinator. Brutally frank and direct, Juliet took advantage of her stint in Washington to amass and develop a network of contacts in the CIA. She became paralyzed in a car bomb attack on the Home Secretary.
