The Bubble Report: 'Men In Trees' Axed, 'Reaper' Looking Good, and More
Men In Trees has been canceled.  The Anne Heche-led series has had its fair share of ups and downs over its short life.  It has had its moments (especially when placed after Grey's Anatomy on the schedule) but Men In Trees turned into one of those shows that suffered from schizophrenic scheduling, ABC moving it all around its prime time landscape, as well as keeping it off the air for long stretches of time.  Now, it is gone for good.  The Hollywood Reporter took a look at a number of so-called “on the bubble” shows today and their conclusions are somewhat surprising.  Keep reading to find out the possible (probable, maybe) fates of Reaper, Moonlight, Boston Legal and more.

James Hibbard of The Hollywood Reporter is the one doing the handicapping.  As stated above, Men In Trees is dead, finished, kaput.  He says that Shark, October Road and Cashmere Mafia are likely dead, meaning that they are all but canceled.  Boston Legal, Reaper, The New Adventures of Old Christine and Moonlight are likely to be renewed.  As for Eli Stone and Women's Murder Club, it appears that no one has any idea.

The most surprising news here (at least for me) is that Reaper is going to return.  The assumption has been that The CW was leaning towards canceling Reaper.  I couldn't be happier that the series is returning.  The CW executives are supposedly high on the show (as they should be) and their other options weren't much better.  Reaper has the potential to become a cult hit down the road – it just needs some time to find its audience.  As for those other shows, I had no idea that Boston Legal was on bubble.  None of the other news particularly surprises me.  Now, all we need is for CBS to officially confirm that How I Met Your Mother has been renewed for another season and I'll be happy.
