Men in TreesNow that the writers' guild strike has entered its 11th week, and still with no resolution on the horizon, the final few shows still holding out with enough original content for production are falling prey one by one.  Men in Trees stands to become the walkout's latest casualty when work shuts down today in Vancouver, where the series is filmed.

Men in Trees and Smallville are the last two live action shows still in production in Greater Vancouver, with Smallville scheduled to wrap up on January 23.  Both programs were originally supposed to shoot their episodes all the way until the middle of April.

Here's a sneak peak at what will most likely be the final two installments for Men in Trees this season. Spoilers just ahead.

In episode 2.9 entitled “Charity Case,” Jack is still away at sea when Marin gets an unexpected visit from Cash.  His sudden re-emergence in her life comes complete with an even bigger shock of a secret that he unleashes on her.  Meanwhile, Sara gives Eric a temporary home while work continues in the rebuilding of his church.  What starts off as a kind gesture and an innocuous situation soon turns sticky for the celibate couple.  Elsewhere, things turn disastrous as Buzz tries to help Patrick regain his memory.  Finally, Sam gets a glimpse of Jane's more domineering side when she tosses out one of his favorite shirts without permission.

“Charity Case” is scheduled to air Wednesday, February 27 at 10pm.

In still more spoilers, “Wander/Lust,” the 10th episode for this, Men in Trees' sophomore season, features Jack and Marin entertaining Jack's friend Julia and her sculptor husband Jim for dinner.  When Jim and Julia's truck refuses to start, the couple is left with no alternative but to stay the night at the cabin.  Elsewhere, trouble brews between Sam and Jane after Jane opts against wearing the diamond ring Sam gives her.  When she loses the ring, Sam thinks she does so deliberately.  Meanwhile, Mai lends Buzz money to pay off a bookie, who decides to come collecting in the middle of the night.

“Wander/Lust” is slated to air in March as what could possibly by the final installment for Men in Trees this season due to the writers' strike.
