Love is in the air on the set of Men in TreesAnne Heche, lead actress of ABC's romantic dramedy, and co-star James Tupper has turned their onscreen romance into reality.

Hoping to find a steady job, the 38-year-old actress took on the acting gig in which she plays Marin Frist, a relationship coach, author and radio host on Men in Trees.  She immediately bonded with the cast and crew of the show but unexpectedly found love with 42-year-old Tupper, who plays her on-cam love interest Jack Slattery.

“I don't think I was expecting [it].  I've found friendships with people here and I certainly found a friendship with James,” Heche told Billy Bush of Access Hollywood.  “Out of our understanding that we want to live life the same way, have the same point of view on life, we just were lucky enough to fall in love.”

A glitch in the couple's love story, however, is that both were married when they met on the set of Men in Trees.  Heche is currently enmeshed in a bitter divorce battle with estranged husband Coley Laffoon, who filed for divorce from her in February after five years of marriage and who is now granted primary physical custody of their son, Homer, while Tupper is now separated from his wife.
“It was unexpected,” Tupper told Access Hollywood.  “I'd heard a lot of things about Anne like everybody else and I came up here keeping my mind open and found this wonderful, hardworking, beautiful woman… We have a lot of fun together.”

“It's my heart,” Heche said.  “I gotta go where it leads ... People are somewhat confused by me and I understand that, but I am also proud that I'm a woman who represents ... making difficult choices that bring you to where you want to be.”

Meanwhile, Vancouver Sun reveals that the couple has already bought a house together in the West Coast city.  According to Tupper, “it feels a little bit like heaven."

"We are just exploring our relationship and it has been going very well.  Where is it going?  I don't know.  Ask me again in a year," he told the local newspaper.
