'Men in Trees' Season 2 Premieres Tonight
After a long break, ABC's Men in Trees is finally returning to the small screen tonight with its second season opener, “A Tree Goes in Elmo.”

According to the network, the episode will have Cash (Scott Elrod) accompanying Marin (Anne Heche) to a guru in order to help her get rid of issues that serve as a hindrance.  On their way back, an arctic cyclone erupts, leaving Jack (James Tupper) to look for them, despite a pregnant Lynn's (Justine Bateman) protests.

Meanwhile, the others gather at the Chieftain to wait out the storm, and they learn some surprising things about each other.  Mai (Lauren Tom) and Buzz (John Amos) get into an argument over his first choice of a wife, Annie (Emily Bergl) exhibits her competitive spirit at work, Celia (Cynthia Stevenson) and Dick's relationship (Currie Graham) reaches a new level and Sara (Suleka Mathew) informs Ben (Abraham Benrubi) about her court summons, to the chagrin of wife Theresa (Sarah Strange).

Tonight's episode of Men in Trees precedes five ones from the previous season that, according to Bergl's TV Guide Blog, resolves “some big, ongoing issues.”  However, Bergl said they chose to air the five episodes later in the season because series creator Jenny Bicks wanted for the second season-opening episode to “reintroduce new and old audiences alike to the folks of Elmo.”

Emily Bergl also revealed in the blog that although Jane (Seana Kofoed) and the Plow Guy (Ty Olsson) do not appear in the second season premiere, fans can expect to see them in the coming episodes.

Bergl also talked about what's in store for Annie and Patrick (Derek Richardson) this season, saying the couple will be facing some obstacles as the series progresses.

“I can't give too much away, but there are hard times ahead for the two of them,” Emily Bergl wrote on the blog.  “In [tonight's] episode they are still in the honeymoon phase of getting to know each other before the big wedding, or at least for a little while, before they discover that Annie has a dark side.”

Tune in to the second season premiere of Men in Trees at 10/9c.
