If NBC is still unsure about the future of Chuck, the network recently added paranormal crime drama Medium to the list of shows it is renewing, although the renewal isn't for a full-season.  Joining rookies Southland and Parks and Recreation and My Name is Earl, Medium will have at least a 13-episode run, but the number can go to as high as 18 or a full season.

Medium, which was renewed for its sixth season, has been a midseason show for three of its five seasons on NBC, and has steadily attracted a fair share of the ratings despite not producing the same buzz as its Monday companions Heroes and Chuck.  Its debut run, for instance, reeled in an average of 13.9 million viewers.  In 2005, meanwhile, lead Patricia Arquette, who plays research medium Allison DuBois on the show, won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, in addition to nominations for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a SAG award in 2007.

The series about a self-proclaimed spiritual medium in Phoenix, Arizona was reportedly renewed for being a consistent performer for the peacock network and a reliable midseason back-up.

Quirky sophomore comedy Chuck and long-running Law and Order are both in the "bubble" and there's still no word as to their status.

On Medium, Arquette plays a strong-willed mother of three, devoted wife, and law student who believes that she can talk to dead people, see the future in her dreams, and read people's thoughts. It also stars Jake Weber as Joe DuBois, Miguel Sandoval as Manuel Devalos, David Cubitt as Lee Scanlon, Maria Lark as Bridgette DuBois, and Sofia Vassilieva as Ariel DuBois.
