
Showtime's newest original eight-episode summer drama series,
Meadowlands, premiered this past Sunday to favorable reviews.
Meadowlands centers on a family struggling to break away from its past while dealing with the future. The show features the Brogan family, Danny and Evelyn, and their two teenage kids, Zoe and Mark, who were placed in a witness protection program. They move to a rural and peaceful neighborhood called Meadowlands to start a new life. Initially, the suburban vicinity seems to be the perfect place to hide. However, they soon discover that their sanctuary entails a world of paranoia and psychological intrigue.

Leading the cast of
Meadowlands is David Morrissey as the character Danny Brogan, the husband of Evelyn Brogan who works as a bartender with ambitious tendencies. Morrissey is an English film, television and stage actor who is known for his award-winning performance on the drama series
State of Play. His film credits include
Basic Instinct 2, Derailed, and
Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.
Joining Morrissey is actress Lucy Cohu who plays the role of Evelyn Brogan, the wife of Danny who tries to overcome her egotism and hotheadedness to maintain stability for her two children. Cohu is a British actress who has made appearances on
The Bill and
Peak Practice.
Playing the role of Zoe Brogan, the 17-year old daughter of Danny and Evelyn, and twin of brother Mark, is actress Felicity Jones. Jones has served as the voice of Emma on the radio drama
The Archers. Her other credits include T
reasure Seekers, Servants, and
The Worst Witch.
Portraying Mark Brogan, Zoe’s twin brother, is actor Harry Treadaway. He has appeared on television shows like
Marple, Sleeping Murder, and
Recovery.
Meadowlands also includes Ralph Brown, Nina Sosanya, Melanie Hill, Ella Smith, Tristan Gemmill, Tom Hardy, Don Gilet, Sian Brooke, and Scot Williams.
Meadowlands will air Sundays at 10pm ET/PT on Showtime.
