Sian Brooke was born Sian Phillips in 1980 in Lichfield, Staffordshire, England. Although her family name is really Phillips, she was forced to change it to Brooke for the actor’s Equity, in order to avoid being confused with veteran actress, Sian Phillips. She got the name Brooke from an English Civil War general who served at her home town of Lichfield. Brooke graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and has since appeared in television shows like Dinotopia, All About George, A Touch of Frost and Foyle’s War.

Lori Marcuse, played by Sian Brooke on Meadowlands, is the teacher at the Community Educational Establishment.
