Ralph Brown is an English actor born June 18, 1960 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. He has appeared in a number of television shows such as The Bill from 1985 to 1986, The Agency, Nighty Night, Spooks, Coronation Street and Life on Mars. He has appeared on various films as well. He played Dave, Jaye Davidson’s boyfriend in The Crying Game and was also in Buster. Brown also played the roadie Del Preston in the comedy Wayne’s World 2, but is more famous for playing the pilot Ric Olié in the blockbuster Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. He is also credited for portraying the rugby league player Phil in Up ‘n’ Under, was in Devil’s Advocate, and was cast in Paul Scrader’s Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist. He landed a role alongside Vinnie Jones and Jason Statham in Mean Machine in 2001 and was also in The Exorcist: The Beginning in 2004.

Ralph Brown is also known for his part in as Miami Vice in Lock, Stock…The Series. He is also a writer, earning recognition for his first play Sanctuary. It was produced by the Joint Stock Theatre Company and won a Samuel Beckett Award in 1987. It was also performed in the United States as Sanctuary D.C., earning it two nominations for the Helen Hayes Awards. Brown also wrote the screenplay for the feature film New Year’s Day, winning the Raindance Film Festival in 2001. He is also the co-producer of the film.

Brown is a member of the Brighton-based Beach Boys tribute band, The Brighton Beach Boys. They won both the Argus Angel Award and the Latest Festival Award during the Brighton Festival Fringe in 2007. That year, he was cast in the drama Meadowlands as Bernard Wintersgill, the one and only police officer of the show. The character is a keen observer, never letting the details slip away from him. In 2008, he was given the role of Joep in Caught in the Act.
