Masters of Horror is a television series on the Showtime cable network created by Mick Garris. The horror-themed show exhibits an anthology format, featuring a unique but short one hour film per episode. The show intends to terrify and mesmerize even the most discriminating horror critiques.
The bloodcurdling series
Masters of Horrors contains 13 one-hour episodes with 13 distinguished horror film directors such as Don Coscarelli, Stuart Gordon, Tobe Hooper, and others. The concept of the creepy program is to allow a select group of filmmakers an hour episode each in which to flaunt their morbididity and gruesomeness on screen with unlimited artistic freedom. The only restriction is to make each production under $2 million dollars. Throughout the series, a tremendous amount of brutality, nudity and profanity are exposed. And since each segment is distinct, the cast of each episode consists of guest celebrities.
Masters of Horror is produced by John W. Hyde, Keith Addis, Andrew Deane, Mick Garris, Morris Berger, and Steve Brown. It airs Fridays at 10PM EST on Showtime.
