If you haven’t seen the most recent Captain America movie, there are specific events that take place which will fundamentally change the television series.

1. SHIELD no longer exists! This is huge since the entire premise of Agents of SHIELD is that Coulson and his team are members of and work for SHIELD. For example: Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) appeared in the series premiere went to work for Stark Industries after SHIELD was disbanded.

2. SHIELD was disbanded because it had been infiltrated by Hydra for years. There are secret Hydra members throughout the organization. Agent Jasper Sitwell (Max Hernandez), who recently was on the plane, was revealed to be part of Hydra in the movie. Is there a traitor on the plane with Coulson’s team? It’s likely!

3. Nick Fury is believed to be dead. He’s made brief appearances on the series, but is often mentioned since he was the Director of SHIELD. His death was faked in a similar fashion to Coulson’s.
