Thomas Augusto is featured as a contestant in the MTV network’s competitive reality television series Making Menudo. He is 16 years old and hails from the cowboy country region of Dallas, Texas. Among his admirable traits is a positive outlook on challenges, coupled with a strong determination to succeed and keep trying. Thomas proved this of himself when, after being washed out during the initial audition screenings in Dallas, he persisted and went to New York. He would eventually manage to snag himself an invite for the main audition in Miami. Thomas is a believer in hard work and sustained effort.
But on the other hand, his fellow Menudo aspirants don’t always agree with his hard-driving personality. This is exemplified in a spat with
Jose, where Thomas insists on more rehearsals during their downtime. Jose refuses and wants to use the free time to relax, as it was meant to be used. Thomas will have to balance out his single-minded focus and determination with being more sensitive to the needs of the others, since Menudo is supposed to be a group effort.
