Monti Montanez is featured as a contestant in the MTV network’s competitive reality television series Making Menudo. He is 18 years old and hails from Caguas in Puerto Rico, as well as a military brat who has moved from place to place all over the globe, because of his parents’ duties in the armed forces. Monti’s mother is a big fan of the original Menudo, and it was largely her own desire that he follow in their famed footsteps and become a member of the new group.

His mother’s expectations have been combined with the fact that he also has to start living independently, supporting himself as he tries to make it into the cut for the final five. Monti plans to continue performing throughout the competition with a humble demeanor, hoping that it’ll complement his talent and help him earn a spot during the final judging.
