We've got
America's Next Top Model and, for those less interested in a show that wants to be taken seriously,
America's Most Smartest Model. This month, Bravo unveils a modeling show of their own,
Make Me A Supermodel. The show was a hit in England and Bravo has decided to bring it to the states. Last night, the network aired a casting special in anticipation of the season premiere, which airs next Thursday, January 10th. The show will be hosted by two supermodels themselves,
Niki Taylor and
Tyson Beckford. The main question surrounding the show is: can a supermodel really emerge out of a reality television show? Taylor and Beckford say yes and talked about a whole lot more in today's press conference call.

It's only natural to start comparing
America's Next Top Model with
Make Me A Supermodel. Both are reality competitions looking to find the next big star and are hosted by fashion icons. Yet, don't be so quick to dismiss Bravo's new show as a
Top Model knockoff. "It's got that
[American] Idol twist where America votes who stays in the house," Taylor explains. "The show is based in New York, the fashion capital of the world," Beckford chimed in. "We push them into a real work environment. There's less drama and more modeling."
With the comparison to
American Idol out there, which judges would Tyson and Niki compare themselves to? "I'm definitely the Simon," he laughed. "I tell them like it is. Niki's more sweet." Taylor agrees, saying, "I'm Paula!" Unlike other reality competitions of its kind, the show will not feature wacky challenges. Niki explains, saying, "There are challenges to walk in heels, to walk on the runway, but nothing crazy."
The show will feature both male and female models, something Beckford was very happy about. "Having men in the competition separates us from any other show," he said. Because America gets to vote, the show has only taped its casting special. "This is all happening in real live time," Beckford says. "You'll get to see what we just did. There will be recent, relevant shots."
Fans will be able to vote each week to keep their favorite models in the competition. Fans can vote online, on the phone, or by text messaging. Their first opportunity to vote will come after the season premiere airs on January 10th.
