This. Is. Amazing. Entertainment Weekly reports that Jon Hamm (that's Don Draper for you Mad Men fans) will be lending his voice to The Simpsons this coming season. Now I know that Med Men has won a slew of Emmys and all that--thanks in no small part to everyone's favorite ad man--but I can't think of anything that says "I'm kind of a big deal" than playing second fiddle to the ultimate cartoon patriarch.
Hamm will be sporting a very different work uniform in the December episode (titled "Donnie Fatso"), trading in the Sterling Cooper suit and cuff links for an FBI uniform.

And bright yellow skin, of course.

His animated alter-ego is an agent in pursuit of mobster "Fat Tony" (Joe Mantegna), and Homer is the undercover informant sent to prison to rat out Tony's crime circle. Naturally, Homer tests Agent Hamm's patience at every turn, and even adopts an undercover name:  "Nicky Blue Pants Altosaxophony." I didn't even like the movie Nicky Blue Eyes (you were funnier in your mug shot, Hugh Grant), so here's hoping Homer and his arsenal of pink donuts will bring new vision to the name.

When asked how the recording session went, Executive Producer Al Jean told EW "You gave [Hamm] one note and he immediately did 12 great things with it," adding, "He was really funny. And handsome. He had it all." Easy there, Al. You're dangerously close to turning this into an ad for Match.com.

Fans of Don Draper may be sad to know that there will be no references to Mad Men in this episode, but let's put this in perspective, shall we?  Jon Hamm. Homer Simpson. Duff Beer.
