A strange thing happened after last night's episode of Lost, "Across the Sea."  The lack of original characters and the seemingly made-up answers and new plot twists like the cave with the Light of Life have left fans full of a catty, ironic rage manifesting itself on Twitter.

Today one of the hot new games spreading like wildfire on Twitter is the hash tag #LostJokes, where people come up with random, absurdist jokes mimicking the show's ability to make up answers as it goes.

I first learned about #LostJokes from a co-worker who doesn't even watch Lost but was laughing her butt at some of the jokes.  While they're funny without actually understanding all of Lost, fans of the series will definitely get a kick out of them, so I encourage everyone to check out all the Lost jokes on Twitter.

To get you started, here are my two favorites.

From Lizabel62:
"Knock, knock."
"Who's there?"
"Jacob's brother."
"Jacob's brother, who?"

From Sgnp:
"A guy walks into a bar, but it wasn't a guy and it isn't a bar and you've been dead for seven years."

There's no doubt that Lost fans are in it to the end with only two episodes left, but it's nice to see them starting to blow off steam over the sudden appearance of a mysterious cave that contains all of the answers despite never being mentioned or referenced for six seasons.

At this point, even if Lost disappoints with a Sopranos-style ending, it looks like the viewers won't mind because they're able to see the show as an absurd exercise in misdirection.  It's better to laugh than to get angry.
