Jorge Garcia as Hurley Reyes

Born on April 28, 1973 in Omaha, Nebraska, Jorge Garcia spent his formative years in Southern California, where he attended San Clemente High School. During his final year, Garcia was given the title, “Triton of the Year.”

He discovered his passion for acting when he sang in his school’s musical version of the comic strip, Drabble. Upon completing his tertiary education, he became a member of the Beverly Hills Playhouse, with whom he has starred in several stage productions, which include The Midnight Zone, Something Borrowed Something Blue, Romancing Valentino, Fiddler on the Roof, Hurlyburly and Guys and Dolls. Garcia has also tried his luck in stand-up comedy, performing in popular comedy clubs such as the Laugh Factory and the Comedy Store.

His popularity on the small screen has been largely due to his portrayal of Hugo Reyes on the hit television series, Lost. Garcia was asked to audition try out for the show because of his impressive performance on another hit series, Curb Your Enthusiasm. His role may have accounted for his absence at his sister’s wedding, but it also earned him 2005 Teen Choice Award nominations for Choice TV Sidekick and Choice TV Breakout Performance- Male and a 2006 Teen Choice Award nomination for TV-Choice Sidekick. In 2006, he won an ALMA Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Television Series, also for his work on Lost. In addition to his acting achievements, Garcia also made a notable performance on Tales from the Crapper, a film that was produced by Troma Studio.

Aside from acting, Garcia also enjoys singing, particularly performing songs from the rock and roll genre. He has a very large CD collection, and used to work at various record stores when he was still in high school.
