Lost is a show that demands repeat viewings, which is why the release of each new DVD set is such a big event. If you're anxiously awaiting a chance to watch the fourth season of
Lost multiple times on DVD, you'll have to be patient. It was recently announced that the 14-episode season will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on December 9, which is nearly seven months after the season finale is set to air on ABC. However, now that Walt Disney Studios has released the box art and list of extra features for the set, it looks like the long wait may be worth it.

Some shows, such as
Friday Night Lights, manage to get DVD sets out just a couple of months after a season wraps up. Other shows, such as
Lost and
Battlestar Galactica, seem to take eons to release their DVDs. In my opinion, the
Lost sets are always well worth the wait thanks to the excellent extras and beautiful packaging on display. There's a lot of care put into these sets, though I still wish they would come to stores a bit more quickly.
