Lost: Mobisode 2, "The Adventures of Hurley and Frogurt"
Wednesday, November 14, 2007

The second episode of Lost: Missing Pieces was released to Verizon Wireless members yesterday, and has made its way on to the internet in various, crappy-quality forms.  That's what happens when you videotape a video that's playing on your phone, I suppose.  For better quality, the general public will have to wait until Monday, when ABC.com puts it on the Lost website.  If you were bored by the first Lost Mobisode, which featured Jack and Christian Shepherd having a nice, no-conflict talk on the beach prior to Jack's marriage, then you should like episode 2 a lot better.  Titled “The Adventures of Hurley and Frogurt”, the Mobisode takes place on the island in a meeting between Hurley and the previously unseen Neil “Frogurt.”

Frogurt was previously only mentioned in passing on Lost, most notably as one of the people who offered to help Bernard build a sign in the episode "S.O.S."  He was referred to as the guy who sold frozen yogurt, hence Frogurt.

Hurley walls out of Rose and Bernard's tent and is quickly stopped by Neil, who Hurley calls Frogurt.  Neil asks what Hurley is doing in their tent.  He picks up a bottle of Dharma Cabernet that Hurley had dropped and wants to know what's going on.  Hurley starts to answer, but Neil assures him that he doesn't care if he's stealing or doing whatever he's doing.  He mostly wants to talk about Libby.

He's kind of a dick to Hurley, telling him that he better make a move quick, because if he doesn't Neil (and other people) are in line to take a crack at Libby.  Neil continues saying that they both know Hurley isn't going to get laundry with Libby.  Hurley counters that,in fact, he has a date with Libby.  Neil compliments him and then he walks away.  That is that.

Sadly, we know that the events in “The Adventures of Hurley and Frogurt” are taking place either during, or soon before Libby was killed.  You got to feel bad for Hurley.  This also might be a set up for Frogurt's character, who the producers have hinted would become more visible this season.
