Born on December 27, 1981 in Victoria, Australia, Emilie De Ravin performed ballet prior to her pursuit of acting. At the age of fifteen, she got accepted at the Australian Ballet School where she performed in productions with the Australian Ballet Company. Eventually, she trained at Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Art and landed a role on the television series
BeastMaster. Her other credits included
Roswell, The Hills Have Eyes, Santa’s Slay, Brick, and
Carrie.
As a regular cast member on the hit television show
Lost, De Ravin, who plays Claire Littleton, is able to prolong her exposure on television. She gives the plot an interesting twist with her mysterious abduction and her struggle to raise her baby as a single mother. Sweet and sunny, she becomes one of the eye candies of the show.
