American actor Robert Carradine was born on March 24, 1954 in Hollywood, California. The son of Daytime Emmy Award-winning actor John Carradine, he has appeared in numerous television series and movies, though he’s most famous for his role as Lewis Skolnick in The Revenge of the Nerds film series. He has also worked on The Twilight Zone, The Tommyknockers, ER, Lois & Clark, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, The Pretender, NYPD Blue, The Practice, and Nash Bridges. Carradine also acted in movies such as Ghosts of Mars and Max Keeble’s Big Move. Younger viewers usually associate him with the role of Lizzie’s father in the Disney comedy series Lizzie McGuire.

Sam McGuire is portrayed by Robert Carradine in the Disney Channel comedy show Lizzie McGuire. The slightly nerdy father of Lizzie and Matt, he is usually clueless about the antics his kids get into, but occasionally appreciates and enjoys how clever their schemes are – to the distress of their mother Jo. He is also quite clumsy, a trait that Lizzie inherited from him. He is also said at one point during the series to have been a nerdy boy, having been a hall monitor, a Mathlete, and president of the Audiovisual Club.
