American actress Hallie Todd was born on January 7, 1962 in Los Angeles, California. The daughter of producer George Eckstein, she has worked on a number of television productions. Among these are The Golden Girls, Highway to Heaven, Growing Pains, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Murder, She Wrote, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Kim Possible. Among her memorable roles was portraying the mother of the titular character in Lizzie McGuire, and playing Lal, the ‘daughter’ and creation of the android Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Todd is married to actor Glenn Withrow, and she helps run In-House Media, a business that specializes in teaching and training young actors.

Jo McGuire is played by Hallie Todd in the Disney Channel comedy series Lizzie McGuire. Lizzie’s protective mother, she is a wonderful cook and is often shown doling out smart life advice to her kids. However, she does have a tendency to embarrass them and becomes overjoyed and excited at any sign that indicates they’re growing up. She’s constantly referred to as having once been a geek who envied other, more popular teens, and that she cherished her prize collection of records and CDs. She also had a crush on a swimming pool lifeguard, before she married Lizzie’s father.
