Headlines involving negative publicities have always been attached to the Lohans, as mostly fueled by troubled actress Lindsay whose multiple arrests and struggles with alcohol addiction and drug use have become regular tabloid news. As expected, critics have pointed their fingers to her mother
Dina Lohan, who has been accused of capitalizing on Lindsay's fame and personal struggles to launch her own career. On the other hand, Lindsay's 14-year-old sister
Ali Lohan refutes this by claiming that her mom is “the greatest mom in the world.”
At present, Ali and Dina star on the reality series
Living Lohan, which serves as their attempt to get their shot in the limelight. On
Living Lohan, Dina, who is often being bashed for her questionable maternal influence over her troubled daughter Lindsay Lohan's life, will do her best to strike a balance between family and career on the unscripted half-hour series. She will also help daughter Ali to navigate the waters of show business in an effort to follow her superstar sibling's footsteps and guide her to avoid some familiar pitfalls of being a celebrity.
"She's our manager and like any other mother in the world she's trying to help her kids fulfill their dreams," Ali told newsday.com. "I just hate it when people twist that and make her into some kind of crazy backstage mom. She's a mom like anybody else and I want people to know that she's the greatest mom in the world."
Despite of Dina's intention to help daughter Ali launch her career, Dina is still presently the subject of media scrutiny for exposing yet another daughter on TV.
"If I told Ali, 'You're a singer and you want to be an artist but you can't because [the paparazzi] are going to trip you up.' But that's with any career. I t's like me telling my son, you can't play lacrosse because you're going to get hurt," Dina explains of her decision to tempt fate once again.
