Despite the controversy surrounding his
DUI arrest in June,
Matthew Roloff, who stars on The Learning Channel's reality series
Little People, Big World, was still warmly welcomed when he came to Paducah, Kentucky just last week.
Along with Paducah natives, Eric Streit,
Little People, Big World field producer, and Jeff Weaver, its executive producer, Roloff cruised the city to film several material for future use on his television series.
Roloff, whose appearance served as a kickoff to the River's Edge Film Festival, which begins this week, spoke at the Luther F. Carson Center last Friday. Heather Ryan, executive director of the Paducah Film Society and coordinator of the River's Edge Film Festival, was thrilled to have a popular figure such as Roloff as part of the three-year-old festival's first speaker's series.
Admission to Roloff's presentation was priced at $15 to $50, as the most expensive ticket, which included a meet and greet opportunity before the show.
Streit, who has bought a house on Paducah's Southside that once belonged to his grandparents, was especially excited to return home. He also expressed his sentiments on being part of Roloff's program.
“It is a pleasure to be part of
Little People, Big World on TLC. The show is a unique, entertaining, family-friendly series that makes a significant social statement and educates people about dwarfism. I'm very proud to be associated with a show that presents such a consistently positive, relatable message,” Streit said.
Meanwhile, fans are eager to catch a brand new season of
Little People, Big World. With the twins reaching college age, and the whole family traveling the country in a rented RV, many changes are bound to happen on the much-awaited season four.
