Emmy nominee Robin Weigert, born July 7, 1969 in Washington, D.C., is best known for her role as Calamity Jane in
Deadwood , an HBO series. She was educated at Brandeis University and later on furthered her studies at New York University to earn a master's degree in fine arts in the highly regarded acting program at Tisch School of the Arts. She then spent ten years acting in stage productions until she moved to Los Angeles to appear in various movies and television series. Weigert appeared on Steven Soderbergh's The Good German, where she played Hannelore. Her other television appearances include those in

Lt. Karen Davis is played by Robin Weigert in NBC's fall presentation, Life. Karen is the hard-hitting lieutenant of Dt. Dani Reese and Dt.
