As reported previously, NBC has decided to bring back Life on Wednesday nights after several weeks of cancellation-level ratings on Fridays at 10pm.  As part of its last ditch effort to save Life, the network is putting the show after Knight Rider, and leading into the return of Law and Order.

Life
centers on Detective Charlie Crews, who at the start of the first season, is released from Pelican Bay State Prison after serving twelve years of a life sentence.  Exonerated after DNA evidence proves that he's innocent, he emerges with an obsession with solving the murder that nearly cost him his life and exposing the conspiracy that framed him for it.

In the seventh episode of the second season of Life called “Jackpot,” Crews and Reese investigate a support group for lottery winners full of odd characters after a woman is found in a pool of blood sitting at a table with a romantic dinner set for two.  In due course, the detectives find out that lottery winners often suffer broken psyches after unexpectedly becoming richer than they could have imagined.

Meanwhile, Rachel is hesitant to tell Crew anything about family's murder or about Jack Reese. Nevertheless, the two surprisingly realize they share a common bond.

Life stars Damian Lewis as Charlie Crews, Adam Arkin as Ted Early, Sarah Shahi as Dani Reese, Brent Sexton as Bobby Starks and Donal Logue as Kevin Tidwell.

Joining the main cast in tonight's episode is Erik Estrada, who is best known for his role as Francis "Ponch" Poncherello on the police series CHiPs.  Estrada played the California Highway Patrol officer from 1977 to 1982 before appearing on The Bold and the Beautiful as Eduardo Dominguez, as Victor Diaz on Husband for Hire, and providing the voice of Marco Rodrigo Diaz on the Cartoon Network show Sealab 2021.
