Last week, we mentioned that
Life of Ryan star,
Ryan Sheckler, has generously agreed to give away his Range Rover to help raise funds for cancer research. This week, we'll fill you in on the teenaged skateboarding sensation's efforts to decorate his new crib.
Two weeks ago, Sheckler went shopping for furniture at Z Gallerie in South Coast Plaza. Ever prepared, MTV's camera crew was on hand to document the teen's shopping trip, for use in a future installment of
Life of Ryan. This current second season will document Ryan's departure from the family home to live with his two buddies, Mitch and Casey.
Sheckler had planned on buying his dream home in San Clemente later that day. The skateboarding whiz had his eye on a 4,000-square-foot house with five bedrooms, four baths, and complete with a game and media room. He was eager and excited to shop for his new residence, citing that he was going for a contemporary, modern look.
“At my mom's house, everything in there is from Z Gallerie,” Sheckler offered, when prodded as to why he chose the said store. “That house feels like home, so I'm going to try to bring a little bit of Z Gallerie to my home.”
According to Sarah Kane, who produces
Life of Ryan, their star has “matured incredibly” over the past year. Among other things, Sheckler went through his parents' divorce on national television.
“You'll see a whole different, mature side of this kid. He's still a teenager, though, and he said that he feels this show is a kind of therapy for him. He's been open, and we've pushed him to say more and more things. He's rising to meet the challenge,” Kane remarked.
For now, the young extreme athlete is happy with his life and what he has accomplished.
“It's good to be in the position that I'm at, because I've said for so long that this is where I want to be,” Sheckler declared. “When people think about skateboarding, I want them to think of Ryan Sheckler.”
